This policy explains how Subtitle Converter handles information when you use our website and tools. For privacy questions, contact support@subtitleconvert.com.
We use account information, such as your name, email address, sign-in details and email verification status, to provide account access and support. If you choose a supported third-party sign-in option, we receive the account information needed to sign you in.
For cloud AI tools, we process the audio or video you submit, your selected language, generated subtitles or transcripts, and task information needed to provide the result. If you contact support, we receive the information you include in your message. Please send only what is needed to resolve your request.
We also process technical and usage information needed to operate and protect the service, such as IP address, session and request information, task status, and AI Credit usage. Account records may include language preferences and referral information.
Our deterministic subtitle tools, including supported Batch operations, process subtitle files and text locally in your browser. These tools do not upload your subtitle contents for conversion. Account and subscription checks may still contact our servers; local file processing does not mean that the website makes no network requests.
AI audio and video transcription is different from local subtitle conversion. Supported media is uploaded to private cloud storage and sent to ElevenLabs, our current transcription provider. The service uses the response to generate your SRT or TXT result. Access to application uploads and downloads is restricted through authorization checks.
ElevenLabs handles data under its own applicable terms and privacy policy. Its retention rules are separate from our application storage. We do not promise zero retention or immediate deletion by the provider.
Application input storage is limited to up to 4 hours, with earlier cleanup when processing finishes. Generated results are available for approximately 24 hours after completion. These are temporary processing and download windows, not a permanent backup service. Keep your originals and download results promptly.
Application cleanup does not set the retention period of the AI provider. Account, billing, AI Credit, task and security records are separate from temporary media files and may be kept as needed to operate the service, address support requests, prevent abuse and meet applicable obligations. We do not promise that all records are deleted when a media file expires.
Payments are processed through Stripe and the payment-provider flow shown at checkout. Payment details are submitted to the payment provider; Subtitle Converter does not directly store full payment card numbers or card security codes. We retain the account, order, subscription and transaction information needed to track purchases, provide access, manage AI Credits and handle billing questions. The payment provider's own privacy terms also apply; see Stripe's Privacy Policy.
We use cookies and browser storage for necessary functions such as sign-in sessions, account security, language or display preferences, and restoring tool or task state. You can manage these through your browser, but blocking or clearing them may affect sign-in and tool functionality. Public subtitle tool pages exclude advertising, analytics, affiliate and support scripts; this statement does not describe every other page on the website.
We use service providers for cloud hosting and storage, authentication and email delivery, payments, and AI transcription. Information is shared as needed for those functions. We may also disclose information when required by applicable law, to address abuse or fraud, or to protect the service and its users. Providers may process information in countries other than your own.
We use reasonable technical and organizational measures, including access controls and private media storage, to protect information. No online service or storage system can guarantee absolute security. Please protect your sign-in credentials and avoid submitting information you are not authorized to share.
You can choose whether to create an account or submit files to cloud tools. Where available, you can update account information through your account settings. To ask about access, correction or deletion of personal information, contact support@subtitleconvert.com. We may need to verify your identity. We handle requests in accordance with applicable law, including any requirements to retain certain records.
We may update this policy as the service changes. We will update the date on this page and provide additional notice where required by applicable law.
